Split Pea Soup


One of my favorite recipes, especially in cooler months, is split pea soup.  Easy, healthy, and delicious!  This is great to make on a lazy Sunday and will serve you for the rest of the week. I hope this silky smooth soup brings you warmth and comfort, enjoy!


  • 1/2 bag of split peas (soaked for at least 8 hours)
  • 2 carrots, chopped
  • 3 cloves of garlic, crushed
  • 2 bay leaves
  • sea salt and black pepper to taste

After soaking the peas, drain the water and add 8 cups of fresh water to a large pot.  Add the carrots, garlic, and salt and bring to a boil.  Reduce to a simmer for two hours, checking every 20 minutes to add more water as needed.  Once the peas are soft, remove the bay leaves and let cool for a bit before transferring the soup to a high powered blender, such as a Vitamin.  The result will  be green, creamy goodness.
